Meta VR Glasses are lightweight virtual reality glasses designed to deliver immersive experiences in a compact form factor. The glasses connect to a separate compute puck, which provides the processing hardware while keeping the glasses light.
The device uses a micro-OLED display with 2412 × 2288 pixels per eye and a 120Hz refresh rate. In addition, it provides a 70° horizontal and 66° vertical field of view. The display supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG.
Furthermore, Meta VR Glasses use a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 3 processor with 12GB of onboard memory. They also include built-in head, hand, and eye tracking. Eyes and hands serve as the primary input, while compatible Meta Quest Touch Plus Controllers can be purchased separately.
For mixed reality, the glasses provide color stereoscopic passthrough with autofocus and depth sensing. They also support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Moreover, the compute puck includes USB-C and DisplayPort DP-In, allowing the glasses to work as a display for compatible Mac, Windows, or console devices.
The glasses weigh approximately 100g and use a magnesium-alloy construction. Battery life reaches up to around 3 hours during media playback. Therefore, Meta VR Glasses combine a high-resolution micro-OLED display, XR2 Gen 3 processing, eye and hand tracking, and advanced wireless connectivity in a lightweight design.
