Samsung 9100 PRO 1TB Gen 5.0 NVMe SSD | Tax Included

The Samsung 9100 PRO 1TB is a high-end PCIe 5.0 NVMe M.2 SSD designed for power users.
It delivers astonishing sequential read speeds of up to 14 800 MB/s and write speeds up to 13 400 MB/s.

Moreover, the drive offers exceptional random performance—up to 2 200 K IOPS reads and 2 600 K IOPS writes.
Also, it supports a massive up to 8 TB capacity in the Pro lineup, compared to competitors topping at 4 TB.

In addition, a robust TurboWrite 2.0 cache keeps large transfers smooth.
Furthermore, it’s built on Samsung’s Presto controller and V‑NAND for efficient performance and reliability.

However, real-world testing shows it trails slightly behind rivals in random-access workloads and gaming benchmarks.
It also runs noticeably hotter than competing Gen 5 SSDs without heatsink.

Despite this, it maintains good power efficiency and thermal control even during heavy use.
In fact, reviewers highlight its consistent performance under load without big slowdowns.

Also, it supports AES‑256 encryption, TCG/Opal, and Samsung Magician software for maintenance.
Importantly, the drive requires a PCIe 5.0-capable motherboard and CPU to hit its full speed.

Otherwise, it functions in PCIe 4.0 mode at reduced performance.
For content creators, AI developers, or professionals handling large files, it shines in heavy workloads and large transfers.

Nevertheless, mainstream gamers and general users might be better served by the more affordable Samsung 990 Pro or PCIe 4.0 drives.
In conclusion, the Samsung 9100 PRO 1TB is a top-tier PCIe 5.0 SSD that balances blistering speed, huge capacity, and professional-grade features—with thermal considerations and a higher price as its trade-offs.
