Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 is a compact item tracker designed to help locate compatible belongings through Samsung SmartThings Find. It uses Bluetooth Low Energy 5.3 and provides a Bluetooth range of up to 120 meters under Samsung’s stated conditions. In addition, UWB support enables enhanced finding features with compatible Galaxy devices.
The SmartTag2 supports Compass View and Search Nearby features. Moreover, Lost Mode uses NFC to display registered contact information and a message on a compatible smartphone when the tag is found. It can also control compatible IoT devices through the SmartThings app.
For power, the tracker uses one replaceable CR2032 battery. The battery provides up to 500 days of use under Samsung’s stated conditions. Furthermore, Power Saving Mode can extend battery life by up to 40% while retaining basic Bluetooth finding functions.
The tracker has an IP67 water and dust resistance rating. Samsung specifies protection against freshwater immersion up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes under laboratory conditions. The device also includes a built-in buzzer and one physical button.
Galaxy SmartTag2 measures 28.8 × 52.44 × 8.0mm and weighs just 13.75g. It is compatible with Galaxy smartphones and tablets running Android 9 or later, while UWB features require a compatible UWB-enabled Galaxy device.
