Hell is Us is a third-person action-adventure game for PlayStation 5. It combines intense melee combat with exploration in a semi-open world.
You play as Rémi, a United Nations peacekeeper searching for his missing parents. He travels to an isolated country affected by civil war and a mysterious calamity.
The calamity has created supernatural creatures that cannot be defeated with modern weapons. Therefore, Rémi uses swords, spears, and axes to fight these dangerous chimeras.
The game uses a unique exploration system without a map, compass, or quest markers. Instead, you must observe your surroundings and follow your own instincts. This makes exploration a key part of the experience.
Rémi also has a drone that helps during exploration and combat. You must learn enemy patterns and use your weapons carefully to survive encounters.
The PS5 version supports DualSense haptic feedback during combat. It also uses the console’s SSD for faster loading and supports immersive 3D audio. Moreover, the game is enhanced for PS5 Pro with PSSR and advanced ray tracing.
Hell is Us supports one player and Remote Play. It offers English and French voice options, with multiple screen languages available.
